Description

A delicious grilled salmon recipe featuring a sweet and spicy maple lime glaze

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pieces skinless salmon, about 6 oz. each
  • 4 tsp. olive oil, for rubbing salmon
  • 1 tsp. Szeged Fish Rub or other fish rub seasoning (see notes)
  • non-stick grill spray or high smoke point oil if using the grill
  • 2 T sugar-free maple syrup
  • 1 T fresh-squeezed lime juice (see notes)
  • 1 tsp. Sriracha Sauce (more or less to taste)

Instructions

  1. Take thawed salmon out of the fridge, rub with olive oil and fish rub, and let it come to room temperature.
  2. Spray the grill well with non-stick grill spray or a high smoke point oil and heat to high.
  3. Whisk together the Sugar-Free Maple Syrup, lime juice, and Sriracha Sauce to make the glaze.
  4. Brush the salmon liberally on both sides with the glaze and continue to let it come to room temperature as needed.
  5. To cook, lay salmon on the grill at an angle to grill grates and immediately turn the heat to medium-high.
  6. After about 4 minutes, check grill marks by lifting a corner of the fish, and if the marks are showing rotate salmon to the opposite angle across the grill.
  7. Cook 3-4 minutes after you rotate and then carefully flip fish to the other side.
  8. Cook 1-2 minutes on the other side. Serve hot, with extra glaze to add at the table if desired.
  9. Rub salmon with olive oil and fish rub, and let it come to room temperature.
  10. For air fryer: Preheat to 400F/204C for a few minutes if needed.
  11. Brush the salmon liberally on both sides with the glaze, put in Air Fryer basket, and continue to let it come to room temperature as needed.
  12. Cook salmon about 6 minutes in the Air Fryer, then check for doneness by pressing down on the fish with a finger. It should feel barely firm but not hard when it’s done.
  13. No need to turn the salmon for Air Fryer cooking. Serve hot, with extra glaze to add at the table if desired.
  14. For oven: Preheat to 400F/204C (or 450F/232C). Brush the salmon liberally on both sides with the glaze, put in a baking pan you’ve sprayed with non-stick spray and continue to let fish come to room temperature as needed.
  15. Put salmon in the oven and roast for about 10 minutes for 400F/204C oven temperature, or about 7 minutes for 450F/232C oven temperature.
  16. No need to turn the salmon for oven-roasted cooking method. Serve hot, with extra glaze to add at the table if desired.
