Description
A delicious and comforting bread pudding made with brioche or challah bread, slivered almonds, and a sweet custard.

- 1 loaf brioche or challah bread (sliced 1–1 inches thick)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk or half-and-half
- 1/3 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- pinch salt
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Arrange bread slices in a single layer in the dish.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Pour custard over bread and let soak 10–15 minutes.
- Sprinkle slivered almonds on top, pressing lightly into bread.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until custard is set and top is golden.
- Cool 5 minutes before serving. Optionally dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with syrup.
Notes
- For added flavor, soak the bread overnight for best results.
- Feel free to substitute other nuts or dried fruits if desired.
